2025 - Week 08
I decided not to pressure myself into posting weekly if the updates don’t really make sense. Here goes for the past 2 weeks’ updates.
-
🦸🏻 The world lost a wonderful human being at the end of January (announcement, in French). He was my friend, a living encyclopedia about everything comic book related, the brain behind Comics Outmash and so much more. The last podcast episode he recorded was finally released and I haven’t brought myself to listen to it just yet. It’s been hard to adjust to a new reality where I don’t talk to him every day, but I will do my best to honor his memory.

👾 A few weeks ago I bought a Resident Evil bundle on Steam, so I’ve finished Resident Evil 2 and 3 and started the 4th over the week-end (allowing me to practice my Spanish at the same time). I didn’t expect to play this kind of game on my Steamdeck, but it’s been an enjoyable gaming experience, except when my Bluetooth headphones screamed “Recharge Battery” while I’m trying to avoid being eaten alive. I really want the headphone manufacturing companies to calm down and find a less heart-attack inducing way to tell me I need to plug my headphones in.

🧠 ADHD bootcamp is still going strong as we finished the first module. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my brain while I try to stay committed to Todoist. If a task is not in the planner, it does not exist.

🏃🏻♂️ The next few Tuesdays are now “track nights” where I meet with a bunch of people and run fast. I’m hoping to increase my pace a little bit but even if I don’t succeed, it’s motivating to do something new as part of my usual running training routine.

⌚️ Speaking of ADHD and running, I finally caved and got myself a new watch. Last week, the bootcamp host pointed out that if you have ADHD (which can cause time blindness) and are not wearing a watch, you’re making things difficult for yourself. I was already thinking of getting a new watch to track my runs instead of using my phone, so it was an easy decision. I really don’t feel like giving Apple money these days, so I went for a Garmin Forerunner® 165 Music. I really like it so far, but I will report once I’ve learned how to use it.
